Cinderella Picture Books - A List of Covers

  1. Holy crap, this story has been done to death. It is a classic but wow! I like the cover on the third one down from the very top.

  2. You think?! Maybe?! Obviously it is by far the most popular fairy tale.
And I think I'm probably missing some versions.
I like that cover, too. It's too bad it's out of print. I'd love to see the inside illustrations. Same with the Hilary Knight version.

  3. Yes, that's quite an undertaking trying to make this list. Many beautiful covers on your list I've never seen.

The latest "version" of the story we have read is Ponyella by Laura Numeroff. Might fit into your fun twist category.

  4. Thanks for adding to the list, Janelle. We'll have to see if our library has that one.

  5. Yep, done to death but still fun, sometimes. I love the ooh--what's her name--Barbara McClintock one. The multicultural ones are always interesting, too. Great post!

  6. Wow, what a list! It would be fun to read them all and compare. The contrasting cover art itself is pretty fascinating.

  7. Amy, as far as my girls are concerned (especially Karina), there can never be too many. While we haven't read all on this list, I have to admit we've read more than half. And my girls never seem to tire of reading new versions.

Jessica, they are fun to compare and contrast across cultures. And to drool over the artwork.
